Profile: Jim McLaren – one of the Pot’s greats over the last few years as a player, persistent knee problems have forced the Dundonian to take over as non-playing coach this season. His appointment just after the start of the season has reaped dividends in improved performances and results, with his incessant screaming from the touchline a regular feature of Pot games of late. Fergie’s job may be safe, but Jim is the heir apparent to the long line of successful but dour whingeing Scottish managers. Only a matter of time, surely, before he buys a sheepskin coat. |
